The Harpenden-based team of Neil, Phil Pinkham, Neil Dytham and Ben Newton, proved too strong for runners-up Gummer and Dumber and Comfort in Drink. However Comfort in Drink team member Innes Miller did win the Longest Drive competition with a massive tee shot of almost 300 yards. Innes is used to long drives as he lives in Aberdeen!

Fellow Comfort in Drink team-mate  Nick Dunn won the Best Individal Score prize, with Colin Neal runner-up.  Nearest the Pin prize was claimed by Neil Lobo.

An after-lunch auction and raffle helped raise a total of £1200 for the charity that provides oxygen therapy that can help clients with a variey of ailments, including MS, fibromyalgia, sports injuries, cancer and Long Covid.

Event organiser Paul Bishop thanked all the golfers for making the day such a success. “We’ve got a great bunch of players who come back year after year to support the charity, not only by playing but by generously putting their hands in their pockets bidding for auction items and buying raffle tickets.

Next year’s golf day is on Friday October 4 at Stocks Golf Club, Aldbury, near Tring. More details from Paul Bishop via email: presstige39@gmail.com or phone: 07973 237162.

“We are also extremely grateful to our sponsors: Five Star Trophies and Tesco Express, Harpenden.”
