Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Fibromyalgia

Treatment involves managing the symptoms you have; mostly focussing on managing pain and reducing fatigue. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is one of the treatments available.

A staggering 85% of people with Fibromyalgia find Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy significantly reduces their pain, according to research in Israel. We see this in Letchworth too.

We work closely with Fibromyalgia Action UK, a voluntary organisation supporting people with Fibromyalgia and other hidden diseases.

Research into Oxygen Therapy for Fibromyalgia

The British Medical Journal reports that: “HBOT might have a positive effect in improving pain, tender points, fatigue, multidimensional function, patient global and sleep disturbance in Fibromyalgia.”

In addition, significant research into the benefits of HBOT for people with fibromyalgia has been conducted in Israel. The National Library of Medicine published the results, summarising the findings: “The study provides evidence that HBOT can improve the symptoms and life quality of FMS patients.” Read the British Medical Journal report here.

Researcher Ben-Jacob said: “The results are of significant importance since, unlike the current treatments offered for fibromyalgia patients, Oxygen Therapy is not aiming for just symptomatic improvement. It is aiming for the actual cause.”
