Hay Fever

What is Hay Fever?

IMAGE: woman with hay feverHay Fever is an allergic reaction to pollen. It’s a common condition affecting up to one in five people.

The pollen that you’re allergic to will affect the time of year when you experience Hay Fever. You may be allergic to:

  • Tree pollen, released during spring
  • Grass pollen, released during the end of spring and beginning of summer
  • Weed pollen, released late autumn

If you suffer from Hay Fever, you know what to expect as the pollen count increases. Symptoms include: sneezing, a runny nose and itchy eyes. Many people find they have increased fatigue with Hay Fever.

Hay Fever Treatment

There is no current cure for Hay Fever, although symptoms generally improve which age. 10% – 20% of people find that their symptoms completely disappear over time.

In America, Dr Elena Eustache is successfully treating hay fever with Oxygen Therapy.

“At the Eustache Institute, we feel it’s important to raise awareness about hyperbaric oxygen treatment for those who have been diagnosed with hay fever because it’s the perfect treatment to help relieve symptoms associated with this particular allergy,” says Dr. Eustache. “People can suffer from hay fever all year round which can be debilitating and affect a person’s quality of life.”

Oxygen Treatment involves breathing in pure oxygen through a mask under pressure. This involves sitting in an oxygen chamber – ours seats up to seven people.  Many people find that Oxygen Therapy helps them with:

  • Reduced pain
  • Increased energy
  • Faster healing
  • Decreased inflammation

Good news! If you would like to try Oxygen Treatment for your Hay Fever symptoms, you don’t need to travel to America!  Our Centre welcomes anyone with any long term condition or serious health challenge.
