On a busy Thursday for Letchworth charity Herts MS Therapy Centre local sisters Emily (10), Olivia (7) and Isla Woods (2), and their friend Ruby Gibson (6) called in to donate the proceeds of their cake stall. “The girls decided to raise money for charity by selling home-made cakes and lavender pouches,” explained Nicola Woods, mum of Emily, Olivia and Isla. “It was completely their own idea and they even did their own marketing to bring in customers.” Emily, Olivia and Isla’s great-Grandma has Multiple Sclerosis. The four girls decided to donate their proceeds to the Herts MS Therapy Centre and raised ￡24 on their own.
The girls visited the Centre last Thursday as physio Jon Graham from the Channel 4 television show Embarrassing Bodies was also there. Jon was giving talks and demonstrations about how new technology can help people with MS, Parkinson’s and other long term neurological conditions. (See earlier posts for detail)
Mark Boscher from Herts MS Therapy Centre was on hand to greet the girls and show them around the Centre. “I am very impressed with what the girls have done. They have shown lots of imagination and have helped us to help others. Thank you.”
