Freddie’s cycle ride for his Nana
Local grandmother of six Nora McKee of Aston, Stevenage is delighted with the latest venture of her eldest grandchild, Freddie. The intrepid 8 year old is embarking on a 10 mile cycle to raise funds for her Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre in Letchworth. Mrs McKee is a regular user of the centre which provides physiotherapy, oxygen treatment and a range of complementary offerings; delivering over 7000 therapies per annum. The centre aims to deliver affordable and accessible treatments for as many sufferers as possible, and in 2012 extended their practice to Hoddesdon, St Albans and three locations in Luton.
Freddie was keen to support both the resource centre and his nana. In his own words,
‘I hope to raise money for the school and my Nana’s MS Resource Centre (it’s like a mini sports centre), they help people with MS stay as strong as they can, and help them with pain. I would really like to do something for my Nana; she is so kind to us and to everyone. I am also being sponsored per mile to buy a bunch of flowers for my Nana.
I thought the challenge would be fun. I love cycling, and a 10 mile cycle will be a big achievement for me.
