Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) is a chronic, physical illness affecting people of all ages and backgrounds. It causes sufferers to have allergic-type reactions to very low levels of chemicals in everyday products. Put simply the immune and detoxification systems stop working properly and the body cannot process toxins efficiently. (MCS-Aware.)

MCS can affect anybody at any age. Sensitivities can develop:

  • After a single exposure to a toxic substance (such as a pesticide)
  • Following a viral infection
  • After ill-health
  • Following long term exposure to low level toxins

Symptoms can include rash, headache, hyperactivity and asthmatic reactions.

Many people find that Oxygen Therapy can reduce inflammation, which often helps people with asthma and asthmatic reactions. It can also increase energy levels, which people living with chronic conditions often value.

The Herts MS Therapy Centre is a registered charity which welcomes anyone with any long term condition, including people with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. Our registered charity is home to the only Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Chamber in Hertfordshire.

If you would like to know more about Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy please visit our Oxygen Therapy page.
